With journalism there are some rules that have to be followed, in other words, “journalism’s do’s and don’ts.” A few tricks for journalists are things such as spelling out numbers less than ten. Three, four, five, etc.

-Use quotation marks for words that are NOT yours

-Punctuation marks go inside the quotation marks

-Get the correct spelling of sources.

-Don’t forget the audience.

-Don’t  bother if you don’t have something to say.

-Get straight to the point. Be focused and deep.

-Verify, verify, verify.

We must decide what is important, what can be left out, and still tell the whole story. Journalists should keep in mind, fairness. In which, they should present all sides, arguments, and opinions.
