Journalism is using your perspective to re-interpret the world around you. I love looking at journalism like this because its your story and its how you view things from the facts and evidence you’ve gathered.

For interviews:

If you interview people in a place that has some relevance to your story then you will have a greater success. Finding a good location is for an interview is essential. Preparing your questions ahead of time is also essential because you will be prepared and ahead of the game. If you aren’t prepared and don’t have anywhere to go with the interview then it won’t be as successful.

Set the rules for the interview upfront. Make sure that the interviewee understands what your story is about and that there is no confusion.

Be on time. If you tell someone that your going to be there at a certain time and don’t make it, it leaves a bad impression.

Always make sure that your equipment is working before the interview. If your laptop is charged, if you have paper and pen, if you need any extra batteries, tapes, disks, etc.

Be  sure again to note the location. It is essential! If the background is too noisy and your recording then you might want to change locations.
